Our story isn’t about us; it’s about the children we lift up.
From our humble beginnings to where we stand today, our commitment to the children of Maryland has guided our approach to mentoring, academic support, and youth leadership programs.
Every great story starts somewhere. Ours began in 2018 in Northern Anne Arundel County—a place full of promise, but not without its fair share of challenges. Recognizing the education and opportunity gap that so many children experience here, we set out to change the narrative. We believed that through love, trust, and connection, we could help every child find their feet and realize their potential.
After all, the youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow.
Andy Schindling
Founder & Executive Director
Once a minor league pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles, Andy knows firsthand the importance of purpose and direction.
Especially during formative years, it’s important to know that challenges and mistakes—whether they’re academic or social—don’t need to define your future.
Driven by a passion for youth and a desire to make a difference in his community, Andy is now dedicated to helping young people find their paths and see past the “limitations” placed on them by others.
The social & educational pathways we create really can lead anywhere.
From the very start, TCP has been about more than just programs; it’s about community. It’s about reaching those kids who often feel overlooked and helping them see the bigger picture of what they can achieve.
Mark’s work in helping students work through bullying incidents is also worth noting.
He has a remarkable ability to facilitate conversations that allow the students involved to take ownership of their actions, reflect on how they’ve made others feel, and truly apologize. His ability to empower kids to see the value in their own voices and to develop confidence in themselves is something I admire deeply. He has given some students a voice and/or skills that I don’t think they realized that they had inside of them.
Curious about the impact we’re making in our community?
From updates on our youth leadership programs to stories of the young leaders we empower, our blog is a great way to stay connected with our mission.
