April 2022 Fundraiser

An April to Remember

The month of April started off with our MacArthur students packing 125 care packages and making 200 PB&J’s for homeless people, packing 30 care packages for hospitalized youth, and collecting over 50 pounds of litter around an Arundel Mills shopping center.

11 days later, on April 20th, we held our 1st Annual TCP Spring Gala to celebrate the accomplishments of our students, showcase our programs, and to award our 2022 Mentor of the Year (David “rocky” Gonsalves).

This was a remarkable night!

We had 181 guests, including our County Executive Steuart Pitmann, who witnessed live business presentations and testimonials from TCP youth. The courage and confidence our students possessed that night highlighted the impact that we are making through the generosity and support of our donors and partners. These young leaders stole the show and blew the crowd away.

We raised $10,500 at the Gala!

2022 Gala

Just two days after our Spring Gala, our Brooklyn Park students held their Hammonds Lane Park Spruce-up event in partnership with Atlantic Maintenance Group, The Stone Store, and The Restaurant Store (Baltimore West). Within a three hour period, our students and volunteers packed 120 care packages and made 110 PB&J’s for the homeless and planted just over 100 perennials, shrubs, and trees in newly built flower beds around the park. Our student’s efforts also encouraged AA County Recs and Parks to replace the gazebo, basketball court surface, and the basketball hoops at the park.

The month of April was a great display of how young leaders can take a vision and an idea and work together to bring them to a reality for the betterment of their community. It proved to our young leaders that dedication and hard work can produce amazing results, and more importantly, that they have the power to create change and impact lives in their community.

The month of April showed us just how blessed we are to have such great students, families, supporters, business partners and volunteers.
