Data Shows Significant Progress

Wow! It’s hard to believe we are already halfway through the school year.

For the first time, TCP Charity had three programs running simultaneously during the first school semester. Our TCP Sports & STEM program served 75 1st-5th graders attending Brooklyn Park, North Glen, and Woodside elementary schools. The TCP Young Leaders program had 43 6th- 8th graders from Brooklyn Park and Marley middle schools, while our TCP Academic & Emotional Mentoring program served 60 2nd-5th graders in Brooklyn Park and Woodside elementary schools.

As we started the first semester, we felt overwhelmed with everything planned. With only six staff members and a few volunteers to run programs every day after school, plus four days before school, we were still determining how it would unfold. We knew there would be some growing pains, long days, and tired mentors. We knew we had the right staff in place and were committed to showing up every day. What we didn’t know was the size of the impact we would make with our TCP Academic & Emotional Mentoring program.

Well!…. The first semester data on TCP students is in. Below are just a few examples of the impact TCP mentors are having.

Elementary School Student Data

  • 100% of 3rd graders improved their grade or maintained a C or better in Math
  • 12 of 14 5th graders improved their grade or maintained a C or better in Math
  • 7 of 11 2nd graders improved their English state quarterly exam score
  • 86% of 4th graders improved their English state quarterly exam score by at least 10 points

How about them apples?

More data on our programs’ impact and the success of our middle school programs will be released at our 3rd Annual Spring Gala

Summer Camps

Summer 2024 will be a jam-packed summer for TCP Charity, signifying a fourth straight summer of rolling out a new camp.

With a brand new partnership intact, TCP Charity, Sisters in Sync, and Excellence Esthetics, we are dropping the Beautiful, Brilliant, & Bold Summer Camp for current 7th through 10th grade girls in the Meade area.
